Where has the first month of 2018 gone??? I can image everyone feels the same way for different reasons.
My Reason: RELOCATING
Without trying to be overly dramatic, relocating could actually be the death of me.
We found out in mid-December that DeVante was being offered his dream job in Iowa. It was never a question that he would take the job and our family would make a home there. Since then, time has been moving a million miles a minute with no signs of slowing down despite the challenges of moving to a new city.
Between my intense job hunt (which btw is a full time job in itself) and hunting for the perfect home for our family from afar (also pretty sure could be a full time career) time can CHILL. To no surprise Indeed and Zillow have become my closest friends and most visited sites online. In the meantime, I am still trying to figure out a way to transport our perfect town home to our new location.
Me being a Type A, planning personality not knowing where we are going live or where I am going to work can get stressful... I am ready to make a plan. I can't wait to start decorating our new home and nesting.
I can say the most encouraging progress we have made is finding a church in DM that I think we will love. It seems very similar to the church we attend in Omaha. Progress!
Nonetheless, we are incredibly excited for this adventure and eager to be in our new home city. The time flying is bitter sweet. Having DeVante home full-time after academy graduation will be wonderful and exploring our new life together sounds so exhilarating.
But can time slow down until I have a job offer and we have found a home?
(asking for a friend)....
xoxo
Ashley
PS- If anyone knows of great housing in the DM area...Let a girl know!
